MIDI note 'latch'

Does anyone go to www.maxforlive.com?  I like it.  A lot of people have uploaded their m4l devices there.  I've been going there to check stuff out, and also look at other people's code to get ideas.  There's a device there that has the exact function that I've been looking for, called "MIDI Note Latch": http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device.php?id=109
 
 
Press a note, and it repeats until you press the note again.
 
So I download it, throw it on a device and... nothing.  The device doesn't work as described, and I don't think it's doing anything at all.  I was wondering it anyone else had the same problem?  Also, (this is where the programming bit comes in) I was wondering if it may be a version issue?  The device was uploaded in '09.  Are there issues with devices that have been made with an older version of Live?  Perhaps that's what happening.
 
If I have to whip this guy up myself, I suppose I will.  But for a minute there I was excited that someone made the exact thing I was looking for, lol.
 
Any ideas on this?
